ALL CLASSES

General Conditions applicable to all Classes

A1.0    GENERAL INFORMATION RELATIVE TO THIS SCHEDULE

A1.1    All vehicles shall comply with the MotorSport New Zealand Safety Schedules - Appendix Two, Schedule A or Appendix Six, Schedule AA of the current MotorSport NZ Manual except where specifically detailed otherwise in this Schedule.  

A1.2    These regulations shall be read in conjunction with the National Sporting Code, the Standing Regulations as detailed in the current edition of the MotorSport Manual, and the Supplementary Regulations issued by the Organiser for each Round of the Series. Additionally, any subsequent amendments / bulletins as issued by MotorSport New Zealand from time to time shall be respected.

A1.3    All cars competing in Events to which these regulations apply shall have a valid MotorSport NZ logbook, excepting those Competitors who are competing in their very first Superlap event.

A1.4    TECHNICAL ELIGIBILITY AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT ENQUIRY: Where any doubt may exist in understanding any regulation contained within this Schedule it will be understood that it is the Competitors obligation to enquire as to the correct interpretation. All technical eligibility and/or safety equipment enquiry shall be submitted in writing to:

(1)     The Series Coordinator, as detailed in the Series Articles, then to

(2)     The MotorSport NZ Technical Department

  • All enquiries should detail the article in question and the specific subject matter.
  • A written reply will always be given to a written enquiry. 
  • On matters of technical eligibility and/or safety compliance, a verbal statement will have no validity.

A2.0    DEFINITIONS

A2.1    Definition of terms used within this Schedule shall be referenced from the National Sporting Code, Appendix Two Schedule A, and as detailed below:

‘Aftermarket’ means a component not manufactured for a specific vehicle make / model of car.

Free’ (part) means that the original part as well as its function may be removed or replaced with a new part on condition that the new part adds no additional function relative to the original part; and

‘Original’ means the factory fitted part for that make, model and year; and.

‘Race trim’ means the condition in which the car competes, and shall include all fluids, ballasts and the driver and their safety equipment; and

‘Road Registered’ means a vehicle with a current valid licence label and Warrant of Fitness. 

A3.0    ELIGIBLE VEHICLES

A3.1    Eligibility shall be for either Series Production vehicles or LVVTA approved vehicles of either open or closed construction. 

A3.2    The Club reserves the right to invite any other vehicle(s) to compete, in addition to those listed in Article A3.1 above.

A3.3    Competition:  There are four(4) Classes as follows:

(1)     Unlimited Class: being ‘purpose-built vehicles’ complying with the requirements of Part E below.

(2)     Pro Open Class: being ‘purpose-built vehicles’ complying with the requirements of Part B below.

(3)     Pro Street Class: being ‘road registered’ vehicles complying with the requirements of Part C below.

(4)     Street Class: being ‘road registered’ vehicles complying with the requirements of Part D below. Specifically excluded from this class are vehicles regarded as high performance spec models of the standard road-going car (example Nissan GTR R35).  (refer also Series Articles 3.5.1).

A3.4    All Pro Street and Street Class vehicles shall have a current valid licence label and Warrant of Fitness.  Additionally, those vehicles that require it must have a valid MSNZ / LVVTA Authority Card.

Note: A licence label ‘on hold’ is not valid.

STREET CLASS

Technical Regulations applicable to Street Class Cars

 

D1.0    SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

D1.1    All safety equipment shall comply with Schedule A, except where specifically detailed within this Schedule otherwise.

D1.2    The following safety equipment shall be fitted to the competing car:

(1)     Fire extinguishers; shall comply with Schedule A, Article 4.8.

(2)     Windscreens; shall be either laminated glass or an approved / polycarbonate material and shall comply fully with the requirements of Schedule A, Article 5.11.

(3)     Rain light/s: A rain light shall be installed in compliance with Schedule A.

(4)     Wipers / demisters; shall be fitted in compliance with Schedule A.

D1.3    The following safety equipment may be fitted to the competing car:

(1)     Safety harness; where fitted shall be in compliance with either FIA 8853-2016, 8853/98, 8854/98 or SFI 16.1 (minimum four(4) strap) and shall be installed in full compliance with Schedule A.

(2)     Seats; where fitted shall be Competition type seats as detailed in and in full compliance with Schedule A.

(3)     A Safety Cage; may be fitted as per Schedule A requirements.

D2.0    BODYSHELL and VEHICLE EXTERIOR

D2.1    The body silhouette shall represent a Series Production vehicle, however remodelling of the appearance is authorised provided that the origin may still be easily recognised. Interpretation is at the sole discretion of the Series Coordinator. The onus of compliance with this article lies entirely with the Competitor; to gain approval (in writing) prior to entering the Series or any Round.

  • 2 Body panels: must be of original design, materials and construction. The body may be constructed from any metal or fibre composite.
  • Alternative materials are permitted for the Front Bumper, Bonnet, Side Skirts, Rear Bumper and Boot provided they follow the same shape as the OEM part
  • OEM fenders must be of original material however flare extensions are permitted.
  • The remainder of the vehicle body must remain as per OEM.
  • Each vehicle must retain the original firewall.
  • No fully tubular construction or composite monocoques are permitted.

D2.3    All monocoque bodies shall have fully operational doors on each side, with efficient hinges and latches arranged for easy opening from inside and outside of the vehicle.

D2.4    Aerodynamics:

(1)     Any part of the vehicle that has an aerodynamic influence on stability shall be mounted on the entirely sprung part of the vehicle.

(2)     Aerodynamic Aids shall comply with Schedule A.

  • Front under tray/splitter may extend 50mm ahead of the vehicle OEM bodywork, no further rearward than the front axle and no wider than the original front guards.
  • Front canards/winglets are permitted but must not extend wider than 50mm beyond the front OEM guards.
  • An OEM rear wing or an aftermarket rear may be used in an unmodified form. The width of the wing must not exceed the widest part of the body.
  • No portion of the wing can be higher than a horizontal line from the highest point of the roofline except in the case of a hatchback where the wing can be no higher than 100mm from the highest point of the wing to the roofline and must be on the rear portion of the roof.
  • No part of the rear wing may extend any further rearwards than the most rearward point of the rear bumper
  • Rear diffuser/ under tray must not extend beyond the vehicles bodywork and forward only to the rear axle centre line.
  • Aftermarket side mirrors are permitted.
5 Headlights: Headlight assembly must remain as per OEM and be fully operational.

D3.0    VEHICLE INTERIOR

D3.1    The interior of the vehicle is free, respecting the provisions of Appendix Two, Schedule A.

D3.2    Seats: The vehicle must have both driver’s and passenger’s seats installed.  Rear seats can be removed to accommodate Roll Cage.
3.3 Dashboard: Complete original dash must be retained; additional switches and gauges may be added. You are allowed to modify dash and door cards in order to fit a roll cage. 

D3.4    Rear Vision Mirror: An internal rear vision mirror must be fitted in compliance with Appendix Two, Schedule A.

  • Door Trims: Original style door trims must be retained. You are allowed to modify dash and door cards in order to fit a roll cage.

 

D4.0    CHASSIS 

D4.1    The chassis is free, respecting Article A3.1 and all Schedule A provisions.

D5.0    ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS

D5.1    Engine type is free, in compliance with Schedule A. 

D5.2    Forced induction is allowed.

  • 3  Engine modifications are free except that the vehicle must retain an engine from that vehicle OEM and that has the same number of cylinders or in the case of a rotary engine, rotors must remain as per the original. For example, if the vehicle is a Toyota that came with a four cylinder engine, the vehicle can be fitted with any Toyota 4 cylinder engine.
  • Sequential gearboxes are not permitted.

D6.0    TRANSMISSION

D6.1    The transmission, from the engine flywheel to the driven (road wheel) hub, shall comply with Schedule A. 

D7.0    SUSPENSION

D7.1     The suspension system is free provided Schedule A compliance is maintained at all times.

D8.0    BRAKING SYSTEM

 D8.1    The braking system is unrestricted provided Schedule A compliance is maintained at all times.

  • OEM brake lights must be fitted and must be operational when the brake is applied.

D9.0    ROAD WHEELS

D9.1    Road wheels are free, provided Schedule A Article 4.9 is maintained at all times.

D10.0  TYRES

D10.1  Any Treaded Tyre is permitted, provided compliance with Appendix Two Schedule A, and this Article D10 is maintained at all times.

D10.1.1 Slick tyres are specifically prohibited from this Class.

D10.2  All tyres shall:

(1)     Be a ‘Road Tyre’ or ‘Treaded Tyre’ as detailed in Appendix two Schedule A, and

(2)     Comply with the requirements of Schedule A.

(3)     Not have any of the original mouldings, marks or writing removed.

(4)     Have a treadwear rating of 180 or above.

D10.3  Tyre modification/ treatment: The following modifications/ treatments are specifically prohibited:

  • Hand cut tread grooves, and
  • Tyre warmers, chemical treatments or any means to artificially enhance tyre performance.
  • Tyre width: Each tyre on a four (4) wheel drive vehicle must be no wider than 265 unless specified larger by the OEM for that particular vehicle in which case the tyre must match the OEM size specification.
  • Each tyre on a two (2) wheel drive vehicle must be no wider than 295 unless specified larger by the OEM in which case the tyre must match the OEM specification.

PRO STREET CLASS

Technical Regulations applicable to Pro Street Class Cars

C1.0    SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

C1.1    All safety equipment shall comply with Schedule A, except where specifically detailed within this Schedule otherwise.

C1.2    The following safety equipment shall be fitted to the competing car:

(1)     Fire extinguishers; shall comply with Schedule A, Article 4.8.

(2)     Windscreens; shall be either laminated glass or an approved / polycarbonate material and shall comply fully with the requirements of Schedule A, Article 5.11.

(3)     Rain light/s: A rain light shall be installed in compliance with Schedule A.

(4)     Wipers / demisters; shall be fitted in compliance with Schedule A.

C1.3    The following safety equipment may be fitted to the competing car:

(1)     Safety harness; where fitted shall be in compliance with either FIA 8853-2016, 8853/98, 8854/98 or SFI 16.1 (minimum four(4) strap) and shall be installed in full compliance with Schedule A.

(2)     Seats; where fitted shall be Competition type seats as detailed in and in full compliance with Schedule A.

(3)     A Safety Cage; may be fitted as per Schedule A requirements.

C2.0    BODYSHELL and VEHICLE EXTERIOR

C2.1    The body silhouette shall represent a Series Production vehicle, however remodelling of the appearance is authorised provided that the origin may still be easily recognised. Interpretation is at the sole discretion of the Series Coordinator. The onus of compliance with this article lies entirely with the Competitor; to gain approval (in writing) prior to entering the Series or any Round. 

C2.2    Body panels: shall be complete, securely mounted and constructed to a tradesman like and professional standard.  Materials are free but must be appropriate and ‘fit-for-purpose. 

C2.3    All monocoque bodies shall have fully operational doors on each side, with efficient hinges and latches arranged for easy opening from inside and outside of the vehicle.

C2.4    Aerodynamics:

(1)     Any part of the vehicle that has an aerodynamic influence on stability shall be mounted on the entirely sprung part of the vehicle.

(2)     Aerodynamic aids shall comply with Schedule A.

  • Any aerodynamic aid forward of the front wheels may extend 150mm ahead of the vehicle OEM bodywork, no further rearward than the front axle and no more than 200mm wider than the original bodywork.
  • Front canards/winglets are permitted but must not extend wider than 50mm beyond the front OEM guards.
  • Any side skirts must not extend further outwards than a maximum of 125mm per side wider than the OEM bodywork.
  • Any aerodynamic aid rearward of the rear wheels must be no more than a maximum of 100mm rearward and a maximum of 100mm wider each side than the OEM bodywork. It must be no higher than a maximum of 250mm above the highest point of the OEM roof
  • Aftermarket side mirrors are permitted. 

C2.5 Headlights: Headlight assembly must remain operational to retain WOF status.

C3.0    VEHICLE INTERIOR

C3.1    The interior of the vehicle is free, respecting the provisions of Appendix Two, Schedule A.

C3.2    Seats: The driver’s seat position must be offset from the longitudinal centre line of the vehicle with no part of the seat crossing that centre line.

C3.3    Rear Vision Mirror: An internal rear vision mirror must be fitted in compliance with Appendix Two, Schedule A.

Dashboard: Aftermarket Dash and doorcards allowed.

Door trims: Aftermarket door trims allowed.

Instrument cluster: Replacement instrument cluster is permitted.

C4.0    CHASSIS

C4.1    The chassis is free, respecting Article A3.1 and all Schedule A provisions.

C5.0    ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS

C5.1    Engine type is free, in compliance with Schedule A.

C5.2    Forced induction is allowed.

C5.3    Engine modifications are unrestricted, however engine must be based on a production engine from a recognised vehicle manufacturer.

C6.0    TRANSMISSION

C6.1    The transmission, from the engine flywheel to the driven (road wheel) hub, is free provided Schedule A compliance is maintained at all times.

C7.0    SUSPENSION

C7.1     The suspension system is free provided Schedule A compliance is maintained at all times. 

C8.0    BRAKING SYSTEM

C8.1    The braking system is unrestricted provided Schedule A compliance is maintained at all times.

C8.2 OEM brake lights must be fitted and must be operational when the brake is applied.

C9.0    ROAD WHEELS

C9.1    Road wheels are free, provided Schedule A Article 4.9 is maintained at all times.

C10.0  TYRES

C10.1  Any Treaded Tyre is permitted, provided compliance with Appendix Two Schedule A, and this Article C10 is maintained at all times.

C10.1.1 Slick tyres are specifically prohibited from this Class. This includes dual groove tyres such as Hankook Ventus Z214, Hoosier Drag radials etc.

C10.2  All tyres shall:

(1)     Be either a ‘Road Tyre’ or a ‘Treaded Tyre’ as defined in Appendix two Schedule A, and

(2)     Comply with the requirements of Schedule A.

(3)     Not have any of the original mouldings, marks or writing removed.

C10.3  Tyre modification/ treatment: The following modifications/ treatments are specifically prohibited:

  • Hand cut tread grooves, and
  • Tyre warmers, chemical treatments or any means to artificially enhance tyre performance.
  • 4 Tyre width: Tyre width is free, however must match certification to retain WOF standard.

PRO OPEN CLASS

Technical Regulations applicable to Pro Open Class Cars

B1.0    SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

B1.1    All safety equipment shall comply with Schedule A, except where specifically detailed within this Schedule otherwise.

B1.2    The following safety equipment shall be fitted to the competing car:

(1)     Safety harness; in compliance with either FIA 8853-2016, 8853/98, FIA 8854/98 or SFI 16.1 (minimum four(4) strap) shall be installed in full compliance with Schedule A.

(2)     Seats; shall be Competition type seats as detailed in and in full compliance with Schedule A. Additionally, moulded seats of poured foam construction are authorised for space-frame vehicles once approved by the Series Scrutineer and detailed in the MSNZ logbook.

(3)     Fire extinguishers; shall comply with Schedule A, Article 4.8.

(4)     Windscreens; shall be either laminated glass or an approved / polycarbonate material and shall comply fully with the requirements of Schedule A, Article 5.11.

(5)     Rain light/s: A rain light shall be installed in compliance with Schedule A.

(6)     Wipers / demisters; shall be fitted in compliance with Schedule A.

B1.3    The following safety equipment may be fitted to the competing car:

(1)     A Safety Cage; may be fitted as per Schedule A requirements.

Note: A safety cage is strongly recommended.

B2.0    BODYSHELL and VEHICLE EXTERIOR

B2.1    The body silhouette shall represent a Series Production vehicle, however remodelling of the appearance is authorised provided that the origin may still be easily recognised. Interpretation is at the sole discretion of the Series Coordinator. The onus of compliance with this article lies entirely with the Competitor; to gain approval (in writing) prior to entering the Series or any Round.

B2.2    Body panels: shall be complete, securely mounted and constructed to a tradesman like and professional standard.  Materials are free but must be appropriate and ‘fit-for-purpose.

B2.3    All monocoque bodies shall have fully operational doors on each side, with efficient hinges and latches arranged for easy opening from inside and outside of the vehicle. 

B2.4    Aerodynamics: 

(1)     Any part of the vehicle that has an aerodynamic influence on stability shall be mounted on the entirely sprung part of the vehicle and shall provide at least 40mm clearance between the structure and the ground with the car in ‘race trim’. 

(2)     Aerodynamic Aids shall comply with Schedule A. Alternatively, aerodynamic aids complying with the following are authorised, under this Schedule only:

(a)     Front aerodynamic devices shall be no more than 300mm forward of the original body work, no more than 475mm wider, each side of the original bodywork and no higher than the highest part of the original bonnet.

(b)     Side aerodynamic devices between the front and rear wheel arches shall not protrude laterally beyond a line drawn between the front and the rear aero.

(c)     Rear aerodynamic devices shall be no more than 300mm rearwards of the original bodywork, no more than 150mm wider, each side, than the original bodywork and no higher than 250mm above the highest point of the original roof. 

(3)     It is the competitor’s responsibility to provide all evidential calculations pertaining to design, construction and load for any aerodynamic device that does not comply with Schedule A.

 

B3.0    VEHICLE INTERIOR

B3.1    The interior of the vehicle is free, respecting the provisions of Appendix Two, Schedule A.

B3.2    Seats: The driver’s seat position must be offset from the longitudinal centre line of the vehicle with no part of the seat crossing that centre line.

B3.3    Rear Vision Mirror: An internal rear vision mirror must be fitted in compliance with Appendix Two, Schedule A.

B3.4 Dashboard: A full length dashboard is required to be fitted.

B3.4 Door trims: Doorcards (of any material) must be fitted. 

B4.0    CHASSIS

B4.1    The chassis is free, respecting Article A3.1 and all Schedule A provisions.

B5.0    ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS

B5.1    Engine type is free, in compliance with Schedule A.

B5.2    Forced induction is permitted.

B5.3    Engine modifications are unrestricted, however the engine must be based on a production engine from a recognised vehicle manufacturer.

B5.4    Nitrous Oxide (as an additive): is approved for use under this Schedule. Any commercially available Nitrous Oxide System (kit) is authorised under the following conditions;

  • All kits shall be installed and used as per the manufacturer’s instructions together with any additional ‘accessories’ marketed by the same manufacturer.
  • The kit shall be installed in its entirety.
  • The bottle shall be specifically designed / labelled for the use of nitrous oxide, shall be indelibly stamped with a (DOT-1800) pressure rating, shall not exceed 10lb in weight and shall be securely located / mounted within the bodyshell in a central location.
  • If mounted in the cockpit, the bottle shall be enclosed in a separate compartment and vented to the exterior. A pressure relief valve shall be fitted.
  • Only a single bottle is authorised which shall utilise the supplied bracket securely mounted to the bodyshell and shall be installed with a minimum of two(2) metal straps and four(4) self locking ISO 8.8 M6 bolts spreader plates under the floor as necessary.
  • All lines shall be those as supplied in the kit or appropriate replacement high-pressure steel braided lines.
  • Only valves (as supplied in the kit) shall be used.
  • Externally the vehicle shall display a ‘N2O’ warning label / sticker affixed to the top of the windscreen (passenger side) and on both sides of the vehicle adjacent to the competition number (refer picture).

B6.0    TRANSMISSION 

B6.1    The transmission, from the engine flywheel to the driven (road wheel) hub, is free provided Schedule A compliance is maintained at all times.

B7.0    SUSPENSION

B7.1     The suspension system is free provided Schedule A compliance is maintained at all times.

B8.0    BRAKING SYSTEM

B8.1    The braking system is unrestricted provided Schedule A compliance is maintained at all times.

B9.0    ROAD WHEELS

B9.1    Road wheels are free, provided Schedule A Article 4.9 is maintained at all times.

B10.0  TYRES 

B10.1  Tyres are free, provided compliance with Appendix Two Schedule A, and this Article B10 is maintained at all times.

B10.1.1         Any vehicle using slick tyres shall not be eligible for overall or Class points for any session that the slick tyres are used. This includes dual groove tyres such as Hankook Ventus Z214, Hoosier Drag radials etc.

B10.2  All tyres shall:

(1)     Be either a ‘Road Tyre’ or a ‘Treaded Tyre’ as defined in Appendix Two Schedule A, and

(2)     Comply with the requirements of Schedule A.

(3)     Not have any of the original mouldings, marks or writing removed.

B10.3  Tyre modification/ treatment: The following modifications/ treatments are specifically prohibited:

  • Hand cut tread grooves, and
  • Tyre warmers, chemical treatments or any means to artificially enhance tyre performance.

B10.4 Tyre width: tyre width is free.

UNLIIMTED CLASS

Technical Regulations applicable to Unlimited Class Cars

E1.0    SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

E1.1    All safety equipment shall comply with Schedule A, except where specifically detailed within this Schedule otherwise.

E1.2    The following safety equipment shall be fitted to the competing car:

(1)     Safety harness; shall be in compliance with either FIA 8853-2016, 8853/98, 8854/98 or SFI 16.1 (minimum four(4) strap) and shall be installed in full compliance with Schedule A.

(2)     Seats; shall be Competition type seats as detailed in and in full compliance with Schedule A. Additionally, moulded seats of poured foam construction are authorised for space-frame vehicles once approved by the Series Coordinator and detailed in the MSNZ logbook.

(3)     Fire extinguishers; shall comply with Schedule A, Article 4.8.

(4)     Windscreens; shall be either laminated glass or an approved / polycarbonate material and shall comply fully with the requirements of Schedule A, Article 5.11.

(5)     Rain light/s: A rain light shall be installed in compliance with Schedule A.

(6)     Wipers / demisters; shall be fitted in compliance with Schedule A.

E1.3    The following safety equipment may be fitted to the competing car:

(1)     A Safety Cage; may be fitted as per Schedule A requirements.

Note: A Safety Cage is strongly recommended. 

E2.0    BODYSHELL and VEHICLE EXTERIOR

E2.2    Body panels: shall be complete, securely mounted and constructed to a tradesman like and professional standard. Materials are free but must be appropriate and ‘fit-for-purpose.

E2.3    All monocoque bodies shall have fully operational doors on each side, with efficient hinges and latches arranged for easy opening from inside and outside of the vehicle.

E2.4    Aerodynamics:

(1)       Any part of the vehicle that has an aerodynamic influence on stability shall be mounted on the entirely sprung part of the vehicle and shall provide at least 40mm clearance between the structure and the ground with the car in ‘race trim’. 

(2)       Aerodynamic Aids shall comply with Schedule A. Alternatively, aerodynamic aids complying with the following are authorised, under this Schedule only:

(a)        Front aerodynamic devices shall be no more than 300mm forward of the original body work, no more than 475mm wider, each side of the original bodywork and no higher than the highest part of the original bonnet.

(b)       Side aerodynamic devices between the front and rear wheel arches shall not protrude laterally beyond a line drawn between the front and the rear aero.

(c)        Rear aerodynamic devices shall be no more than 400mm rearwards of the original bodywork, no more than 150mm wider, each side, than the original bodywork and no higher than 250mm above the highest point of the original roof.

(3)     It is the competitor’s responsibility to provide all evidential calculations pertaining to design, construction and load for any aerodynamic device that does not comply with Schedule A.

E3.0    VEHICLE INTERIOR

E3.1    The interior of the vehicle is free, respecting the provisions of Appendix Two, Schedule A.

E3.2    Seats: The driver’s seat position must be offset from the longitudinal centre line of the vehicle with no part of the seat crossing that centre line.

E3.3    Rear Vision Mirror: An internal rear vision mirror must be fitted in compliance with Appendix Two, Schedule A. 

E4.0    CHASSIS

E4.1    The chassis is free, respecting Article A3.1 and all Schedule A provisions. 

E5.0    ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS

E5.1    Engine type is free, in compliance with Schedule A.

E5.2    Forced induction is permitted.

E5.3    Engine modifications are unrestricted.

E5.4    Nitrous Oxide (as an additive): is approved for use under this Schedule. Any commercially available Nitrous Oxide System (kit) is authorised under the following conditions;

  • All kits shall be installed and used as per the manufacturer’s instructions together with any additional ‘accessories’ marketed by the same manufacturer.
  • The kit shall be installed in its entirety.
  • The bottle shall be specifically designed / labelled for the use of nitrous oxide, shall be indelibly stamped with a (DOT-1800) pressure rating, shall not exceed 10lb in weight and shall be securely located / mounted within the bodyshell in a central location.
  • If mounted in the cockpit, the bottle shall be enclosed in a separate compartment and vented to the exterior. A pressure relief valve shall be fitted.
  • Only a single bottle is authorised which shall utilise the supplied bracket securely mounted to the bodyshell incorporating spreader plates under the floor as necessary.
  • All lines shall be those as supplied in the kit or appropriate replacement high-pressure steel braided lines.
  • Only valves (as supplied in the kit) shall be used.
  • Externally the vehicle shall display a ‘N2O’ warning label / sticker affixed to the top of the windscreen (passenger side) and on both sides of the vehicle adjacent to the competition number (refer picture).

E6.0    TRANSMISSION

E6.1    The transmission, from the engine flywheel to the driven (road wheel) hub, is free provided Schedule A compliance is maintained at all times.

E7.0    SUSPENSION 

E7.1     The suspension system is free provided Schedule A compliance is maintained at all times. 

E8.0    BRAKING SYSTEM

D8.1    The braking system is unrestricted provided Schedule A compliance is maintained at all times.

E9.0    ROAD WHEELS

E9.1    Road wheels are free, provided Schedule A, Article 4.9 is maintained at all times.

E10.0  TYRES

E10.1  Tyres are free, provided compliance with Appendix Two Schedule A, and this Article E10 is maintained at all times.

E10.2  All tyres shall:

(1)     Comply with the requirements of Schedule A.

(2)     Not have any of the original mouldings, marks or writing removed.

E10.3  Tyre modification/ treatment: The following modifications/ treatments are specifically prohibited: 

  • Hand cut tread grooves, and
  • Chemical treatments or any means to artificially enhance tyre performance.

Note: tyre warmers are allowed.

 

Organisers have the rights to change, adjust, remove or add rules at any time during the season.

Pro Street Class

Pro Street class is for all road-legal cars on semi-slick tyres.

Pro Street class cars must:
  • Be a recognised production model from a vehicle manufacturer.
  • Have a current Warrant of Fitness (WoF).
  • Display a current Registration (not on hold).
  • Have a MSNZ Logbook.
  • 2 strap minimum Fire Extinguisher (please see schedule A for full details).
  • Be LVV Certified for any modifications as required for WoF
  • Run road or semi slick tyres. Pro Street cars may run on any tyres eligible for Street class, or on tyres with a treadwear rating of 179 or less, specifically excluding slick type tyres such as:
    • Hand-grooved slicks
    • Dual grooved slicks (Hankook ventus z214, Hoosier Drag Radials etc)
  • Driver must have the correct safety gear as per Safety Schedule A.
  • Please note, you must have a FHR and Gloves to run at Hampton Downs and Taupo.
Competitors wishing to use tyres from this exclusion list should enter the Unlimited class.

Pro Street class cars may have:
  • Roll protection (full roll-cages must be MSNZ homologated and present with an Authority Card), aerodynamic modifications, engine modifications including full engine swaps, and weight reduction so long as they are still road legal and comply to Safety Schedule A of the NZ Motorsport Manual.
Pro Street cars must not:
  • Be driven by Professional drivers. Professional drivers wishing to participate in the NZ Superlap Series should enter the Pro Open or Unlimited class.
  • Be a ‘team’ entry. This means that only one driver is permitted per Street Class car entry throughout the season (dual drivers under separate entries in a single car are still permitted). Teams wishing to enter a single car with multiple drivers should enter the Pro Open or Unlimited class.
